In this post, I share the ins and outs of my business’s new offerings and brand redesign. I can’t wait to hear what you think!
Every creative journey is filled with ups and downs, and at the end of last year, I felt a bit lost. You know this. The online space, as I knew it, was changing fast. I knew I’d need to evolve to remain a part of it, but that meant taking assess: From where am I coming? And more importantly: Where did I want to go?
Back to the drawing board
After a lot of journaling, thinking, discussing with friends, and taking every “what’s your superpower?” test, three constants emerged:
1 – Design. I’ve long shared that for me, design is not a job. It’s a lifestyle. Whether it’s work or play, I simply cannot remove the act of designing from my soul.
2 – Individualization. I am fascinated (obsessed?) by the qualities that make each person or brand unique. Unsurprisingly, this was my primary result from the Strengths Finder assessment.
3 – Content. I’ve never been a glue and glitter kind of girl, but creativity runs deep in my veins, and the internet has become my playground. I love making things, especially in the digital space, and today it’s where I think we have the power to make the most positive impact.
New Service Offerings
This latest chapter of Michelle Hickey Design is built on the foundation of those three principles (design, individualization, content), and I’m thrilled to present a suite of new services for digital brands:
Helping you establish an aesthetic that reflects your unique business.
Helping you craft visual content backed by strategy and positioned for conversions.
Brand Photo Styling
Helping you get the most out of your photo session in helping you set creative direction and account for all the images you’ll need to produce spectacular content.
A new look
It wasn’t only my old offerings that were misaligned but also my brand’s aesthetics. So I did the digital equivalent of getting bangs—and emerged with a new style.
With a little help from Showit (my hosting platform), Tonic Site Shop (the site template), and Stocklane (stock photography), this new space for Michelle Hickey Design is already feeling like home.
I hope you’ll take some time to pop around the site and explore the new sections, especially the About and Services pages which were my favorites to create.
What else is changing?
While all the old topics like Printables, running an online shop, introversion and books will remain in the archives, new blog posts will focus on elevating your brand’s visual presence online.
I’m also developing a new content series that I am beyond excited to share. It combines brand styling and characters, which is in the center of my heart’s Venn diagram. More details to come.
